As a parent (who is also a professor of theatre), I have learned more from watching this organization, and how they inspire young kids, than I could learn in many a textbook on pedagogy.
No organization knows how to shift and adapt like the Shakespeare Youth Festival. I have been beyond grateful for their work, and for how they work with kids. They inspire the youth to sit in uncomfortable moments, push past them, and then own them. And they do all of this while creating a passion for Shakespeare. I have recommended this non-profit to many families, and each family has deeply thanked me for the referral. But more than anyone else, my daughter is grateful for them.
