My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Rainforest Partnership, Austin, TX, USA
I found Rainforest Partnership a few months ago and it did not take long for me to be amazed at how unique and different this nonprofit is. They go about protecting rainforests from an angle I have never seen before that, at its core, is so inspirational that I immediately wanted to get involved in as a volunteer. Rainforest Partnership seeks to protect and restore our natural rainforests by educating and empowering indigenous communities to create sustainable livelihoods through "projects" listed on the nonprofit's website. These projects are diverse and creative ways to protect the rainforests, and donors can pick which project to donate to. Not only is this nonprofit's mission to make trees more valuable left standing fundamentally different from the rest, but the organizational structure and company spirit are vibrant and special. CEO Niyanta Spelman has a passion unlike any I've ever seen that drives this organization forward and inspires every member of the team. When she visits these indigenous rainforest communities in Peru and Ecuador, she dines and lives with them rather than staying five-star hotel. Rainforest Partnership is an empowering female-led initiative that I can see myself being involved in for a long time.
