Review for Energy Outreach Colorado, Denver, CO, USA
Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC) has helped the Denver Rescue Mission makes its facilities more energy efficient. EOC has focused their efforts on two of our properties: 1)The Crossing where we provide transitional housing to low income families and run a long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation program; 2) The Ministry Outreach Center where we operate a warehouse for gift-in-kind donations of food, clothing and furniture that we distribute to low-income families. At the Crossing, EOC installed controls on PTAC air conditioning units, low flow shower heads, front-loading washing machines and ceiling fans to increase air flow. At the Ministry Outreach Center, EOC insulated the attic, instaled radiator reflectors and upgraded lighting in the warehouse to energy-efficient flourescent light bulbs. EOC is currently exploring the possibility of replacing windows at the Crossing with energy-efficient windows. These improvements have allowed the Denver Rescue Mission to lower its energy costs and be able to provide more direct assistance to the homeless and poor in the Denver community.
