We were very passionate about adopting from a rescue, little did I know, I didn’t do enough research about ADB. We went for a meet and greet, along with 3 other families wanting to meet pups. All of the puppies had large amounts of worms in the crates on the van. She assures us worms were normal. We called our vet, and she agreed worms in puppies were no big deal. We paid $275 and took home a precious boy. The first night, he was throwing up and had diarrhea. By day 3, he was skin and bones. Could not go 1 hour without vomiting. He refused to eat. So weak he could barely hold his head up. Today, day 3 of owning him, we took him to the vet where he tested positive for Parvo. He is currently spending 48 hours in the emergency hospital because we could not let him die. Survival not guaranteed. Estimate? 3,000 dollars. I texted the rescue with pics of his Parvo test and a note from the doc. They did NOT respond.
