Review for Animal Aid & Rescue Foundation, Seahurst, WA, USA
We heard about AARF through a volunteer transport group (Kindred Hearts Transport Connection) when they needed some legs of a transport filled that would bring dogs rescued from euthanasia in Louisiana to either forever or foster homes in Washington state. The AARF team is completely dedicated to saving as many lives as possible by both finding homes for Louisiana's homeless pups in our state and by working with groups in Louisiana to help provide spay and neutering services to those without the means to pay for the procedures on their own.
Prospective families are carefully screened and the adoption specialist works closely with both potential adopters and the dogs' foster families to help ensure a good match.
Review for Wolf Haven International, Tenino, WA, USA
Above is a link to one of our last visits to Wolf Haven International. It was absolutely breathtaking being serenaded by the whole sanctuary.
I've been visiting Wolf Haven International for nearly 30 years, ever since I was allowed to go to a Howl-In with my brother's Cub Scout den. It was instant love. Through the years, the staff and volunteers have always been helpful and knowledgeable, the sanctuary has been beautiful, and - most importantly - the wolves have been happy and well cared for.
One of my favorite visits occurred shortly after one of the male wolves on tour healed from an injured paw. Our tour guide told us that while he was healing, the wolf realized he received more attention while he was limping, so when people were around he'd put on a show of limping around, even though he was perfectly fine. She told us if we watched him, we'd notice he'd accidentally limp on the wrong paw every now and then, which we did see to our joy.
We are truly blessed to have the people and residents of Wolf Haven International in our community.
