When my husband was relocated from our home in California to Alabama for military training, we worried how we would keep up with our medically complex two year old's care. Owen was born with 22q deletion syndrome and a congenital heart defect. He has a weak immune system and cannot travel on a commercial flight.
This month, when Owen needed a procedure at his home hospital in California, Veterans Airlift Command stepped up and offered us safe transportation. We are so grateful!
