Review for Jubilee Park & Community Center, Dallas, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a volunteer at Jubilee Park and Community Center, I feel extremely happy to be able be participate of this great cause. Volunteering at Jubilee has been the most rewarding volunteering I have ever done. I am currently working as a tutor/assistant with the 3rd grade after school program, and just having the kids smile and run to hug me, and ask for help with their homework every time they see me, is an accelerating feeling that has me wishing I could do this all day long. Just driving trough the community can give one an idea of how much the help is needed in this area, but Jubilee is sure to provide breath of hope to the families that participate in this program.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The kids that I tutor are my motivation to do what i do, you can see how much help some kids need just from being with them for 2 hours. I can personally say that in the short time that I have been here I've seen some improvement in some kids' reading skills, as well as their social interactions.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would make the after school program at least an hour longer; and I would probably add a weekend program with fun activities for the kids.

Would you volunteer for this group again?

For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

A lot

Did the organization use your time wisely?

Very Well

Would you recommend this group to a friend?

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

I love what I do at Jubilee, maybe one thing that could improve my volunteer experience would be a short orientation before starting the volunteering.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

Definitely! Just being with the kids I have learned how much they really need and appreciate the time they spend with me, and are always wondering if I will be there the next day!

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

Extremely rewarded, because I know that every kid is taking at least one lessons from me, to help them succeed in school and life.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
