Review for Pa Boxers, Lancaster, PA, USA
I may never rescue again because of this place. They told us the dog we adopted was temperament tested. Turned out she wasn't. They wouldn't let my current dog meet with the dog I wanted because they "don't hold dogs." Surprise, surprise, the dog I adopted from PA Boxer, who was more than twice the size of my 13 year old dog, aggressively attacked my little old man dog. I've been around dogs all my life. I had even made sure to adopt a female because I had a male. Regardless, we had to return the not-as-advertised dog because it was a danger to myself and my family. Oh, wait. Did I mention the dog bit both myself and my husband. I even had to go on antibiotics. Do you think PA Boxer reported that after we told them? Of course no refund because they are a rescue. But they were happy to sell the dog less than 48 hours late to another man. At least they told him it was a good idea if he didn't have another dog in the house. And, in response to another comment assuming people don't know what they are getting into when they adopt: just because one person has had great experiences, doesn't mean that others haven't had horrific ones. Also, isn't it part of a rescues job to find the correct placement for an animal? Isn't that why we fill out applications? Seems to me that blame falls on PA Boxer too. They don't want to find the best home for their dogs. They "won't hold dogs" because they just want to make money. Good luck to anyone who risks adopting from this place.
