The Save the Whales program inspires students to take action in protecting the environment. Our young students can explain and demonstrate how the litter in their city, located hours away from the ocean, can pollute the ocean and threaten the lives of marine animals. During the day, my students take initiatives to pick up litter on the playground to stop it from going down the storm drain. They are also mindful about recycling to reduce the amount of trash that we generate every day. I’ve also learned from the parents that their children are also taking initiatives at home to protect the environment. The hands-on learning led by the passionate staff at Save the Whales has enriched our school’s science curriculum. Save the Whales is making a difference in our community! Thank you Save the Whales!
