Review for Arabian Rescue Mission Inc, Leitchfeild, KY, USA
I adopted 2 stallions from ARM in September 2019, both in their upper teens, with the original intent of only adopting one. After speaking to Terry, & getting her feedback on the personality of the horses, I decided to take both. What's one extra? Said every horse owner ever! While it has been challenging, it has also been very rewarding. Both stallions were gelded 3 weeks after they arrived & truly have come into their own over the past few months, each having quite the large personality expected from the breed. They are beginning to understand the concept of a herd, one of them now accepted by my 2 older Arabs (in their upper 20's), as they settle into the general day to day schedule. Terry was absolutely wonderful! She spent time speaking to me on the phone & answering questions regarding the horses' condition & temperament (it has been a few years since I had a stallion on the property, let alone 2.) I was also able to contact & speak to the original owners, which I feel makes for a smooth transition to the new home. To give up a beloved family member can be heartbreaking, but I felt they needed to know their horses would be in good hands. Terry also gave me the name of a great organization, One Horse At A Time, to help cover some of the expense to have the boys gelded. Every penny counts! Especially when adoption, transportation, & vaccinations/health certificates are added expenses. Terry has continued to keep in touch & I keep her updated on the boys' progress. She genuinely cares what happens to these horses. Very refreshing. And the adoption process was very quick & simple. Thank you for caring. Thank you for making the effort. Thank you for your continuing & unrelenting efforts to find homes for the horses that need them, for whatever reason. And thank you for finding my next project of giving these horses a purpose: we all need jobs to do to give us that purpose. You are truly a special person. Keep up the fantastic work & never give up!
