Review for 22 Warriors Foundation, Las Vegas, NV, USA
As a suicidal veteran myself, I went to the 22 Warriors Foundation for help. The director himself said that they would definitely help, and then proceeded to give me the run around for several weeks before ceasing to respond to emails and hanging up on me when I called. As the next few months painfully passed, my mental state became such that I was no longer employable. I lost everything, became homeless, lived on the street for almost a year, and was eventually taken in by an old Army friend. My friend was appalled by what I told him about my experience with the 22 Warriors Foundation and decided to contact them himself claiming to need help. The director (who seems to be the only point of contact in the foundation) gave him the same garbage stories and excuses before breaking contact. Now highly suspicious, we had several other people try to get assistance whenever we could over the course of the next year and everyone we had get in contact got the same results. Convinced that this organization/individual was up to no good, we called and asked to come see his financials on several occasions, which he refused (which is illegal for a 501) and then threatened us if we were to show up unannounced. We went ahead and left him alone but we've been sharing this info with interested parties ever since. Always keep in mind that a non-profit organization DOES NOT have to use the majority of your donations for charitable purposes. Think twice before donating to 22 Warriors Foundation unless you really want to help the director rent himself entire golf courses for those ridiculous 'fundraisers'. Must be a nice lifestyle... Taking advantage of those few generous people who are donating money to help suicidal veterans is not only incredibly disappointing, but downright disgusting.
Absolutely Incorrect and false review. First off I specifically remember this situation and this and EVERY person is told the steps they have to go through to be vetted through CRRC at the Northeast VA Clinic and even then because we are a very small organization that does not mean we have the capabilities. Second, there are more than one POC in this organization and the steps don't change. Obviously this is someone who was not happy that they were not just given money by us, which is NOT our primary or secondary program. Thirdly, Obviously by the other reviews this person is not the standard but more like a person who felt that they were entitled to something that they may not have qualified for through us and/or if it was this time of the year we more than likely did not have the resources to help. Fourth, our financials are available through our Treasurer who is a Licensed Accountant. NOBODY has ever requested to see our financials and not been given the opportunity to see them.
And finally the last I will address this false BS review, We do not rent or do ANY expensive Golf Fundraisers at all these are events put on by others that we are invited to, We don't have any type of budget that could afford that. We are also ALL Volunteers and nobody is making money and as a Retired and 100% VA rated disabled Veteran all my income is through my retirement and disability. This person obviously knows nothing of our organization or the community that we are in because I have countless Organizations and Individuals that will vouch for our organization and what we do for the Veteran Community.
