Review for Give a Dog a Home Rescue, Sebec, ME, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My husband and I had to euthanize our 15 year old dog, Yogi. We were lost, our home was empty. We have had rescue dogs for 43 years. We had not been canineless for more than 2 weeks. We searched online for a rescue site that we could find 2 dogs that would join our family. We came across " Give a Dog a Home German Shepherd Rescue". We looked at the many dogs up for adoption. We looked at each bio and decided on 2 pups. We filled out the application. It is a very complete and thorough application. We talked to Jenn. She gave us a more complete idea of the personalities of our pup preferences. We chose 3 alternates just in case our 2 pups had been adopted. We emailed and texted back and forth and a date was set for us to pick up our pups!!! It was so exciting. She informed us about what to expect, after all, these pups had been thru a lot in their journey to this point of finally getting a forever home. We met our babes and it was love at 1st sight, at least on our side. They were a little leery of these humans trying to make friends with them, however with Jenn encouraging them to come check us out. Telling them we were friends. They both decided to give us a try. We spent time cuddling and scratching ears. Giving reassurance that it would be okay. It has been so much better than okay. It has been GREAT! Jenn knows her pups. She has spent lots of time with them. She gave us tips and suggestions to make the transition smooth for all of us. These 2 pups, Molly & Huckleberry, have fit into our home very smoothly. We have 10 cats and because of Jenn tips and suggestions the cats and pups are great friends. They play and have respect for each other. It has made our home complete.
Ron and I highly recommend "Give a Dog a Home German Shepherd Rescue". We feel the entire adoption process was done with the dogs needs as the top priority. Our choice of pups was the perfect fit but we know if Jenn was concerned that it would not have worked to the benefit of the dogs she would have made suggestions to correct the situation.
