Review for Southern Plains Land Trust, Lamar, CO, USA
I've been involved with SPLT for the last 7 years and have loved every minute of it. From volunteer to board member, I have been a valued and valuable part of the SPLT organization. By purchasing the land, SPLT protects biodiversity of ALL plants, animals, insects, and fungi that live on, above, or beneath the soil. With a staff of only three people, overhead is kept low so that more land can be purchased and more wildlife protected. SPLT also has the most restrictive easements for a non-profit land trust: no hunting, fishing, ranching, farming, or exploitation of any animals is allowed. SPLT undertakes riparian area repair as well as reintroduces native wildlife, like the herd of bison introduced in 2015. It's a marvelous organization.
