Review for MEXICO MEDICAL MISSIONS, Houston, TX, USA
I joined Mexico Medical Missions in 2009 to work on combating childhood malnutrition among the Tarahumara people. The support of Mexico Medical Missions has made it possible for me to teach Tarahumara farmers how to grow more food and feed their families better. Gregorio Lopez recently told me. “I used to harvest 17 bags of corn each year. Last year I planted corn the way you do and I harvested 26 bags. This spring I did the same thing and it looks like my harvest will be really good again this year.”
This year Gregorio also planted potatoes the way I taught him to and is expecting a good harvest. His family should have enough potatoes to eat for the next 10 months and a surplus to sell! Gregorio is passing the blessing on to others, by frequently feeding his nieces and nephews who otherwise would often have nothing to eat.
