My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Northeast Animal Rescue, Philadelphia, PA, USA
NAR is a great organization that aims to care for, rehabilitate and find loving homes for homeless cats. They are a no kill shelter and take in as many strays and unwanted cats as possible even though they survive solely on donations. The animals all get a clean bill of health from a veterinarian and then are placed in a foster home or into the cat home at Petsmart where they can gain exposure to possible adopters. These cats are all known and loved as individuals with their own personalities by the foster homes and volunteers that care for them. A picture, stats and in depth description of each cat is placed in the adoption "cat book" at Petsmart and also on the website so that potential adopters can learn as much as possible about the animal to ensure the right fit into their home. NAR also does a terrific job with the trap and release program in which feral cats are trapped, spayed or neutered and then released. This helps to ensure that even though these feral cats are unadoptable, they at least won't continue to breed and enlarge an ever growing and out of control population of strays.I am so happy that I am able to volunteer my time to an organization that really helps the animals that it takes in and helps to bring joy to the lives of many cats that otherwise may not survive and would never know the love of a good home.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have seen many many cats find loving homes with people who will love and care for them. This organization has saved countless cats from injury, starvation or even death out on the streets. It gives these helpless animals one more chance at a good life.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Being able to help these animals and know that all of us are working toward a common goal which is to save as many lives as possible. It touches me to see that there really are decent people in the world who care and will give of their time for these cats
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
All are kind and caring and truly have a love for the animals that they care for, Many of the other volunteers have said to me that at the end of their "shift" for the day they don't even want to leave because they love being with the animals so much.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Save thousands of innocent animals by getting them off of the streets, getting proper vet care and good loving homes.
