My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for ZERO - The End of Prostate Cancer, Alexandria, VA, USA
I was hit with Stage IV PCa in 01/2015. Found ZERO via a web search, signed up for the LA ZERO 5k event in 2017. That was the beginning of a still ongoing relationship with ZERO. They are very supportive of us PCa victims, proactive with encouraging screenings, and hosting 5k events. At those events, they honor us PCa survivors, host a kids dash, have numerous info booths, and even have free PSA screenings.
I've done the TCS NYC marathon three times with Team ZERO, and I have the 4th in a row this November (raising over $14k).
ZERO published a Blog post about me, to share my saga, and maybe get a man screened, or inspired: https://zerocancer.org/blog/ive-been-to-the-mountaintop/
I've done half marathons with the current CA race Director - Vanessa, she even helped me train for the 112km of the Camino Frances (https://prostatecancer.net/stories/hiking-awareness/), by hiking up Mt Baldy with me. I'm like her crazy big bro :-)
ZERO is such a wonderful Non-profit, they really treat their employees well, but more importantly - they really feel like my second Ohana (family). Any man stricken with PCa (God forbid) will benefit greatly with ZERO. #endprostatecancer #stageivpca
