Review for Stella Nova Dance Company, San Diego, CA, USA
On April 24-25th at 8:00pm at the David and Dorothea Garfield Theatre, within the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center in La Jolla, Stella Nova Dance Company will present, Ahimsa. Stella Nova Dance Company has decided to go green, just in time for the rest of the world to also be talking about this crucial concept in our world. The production will tackle issues such as global warming, humans in relationship to the environment, and cause and effect relationships such as light, rain, and the growth of the earth. The company will also be incorporating global awareness into the production by using recycled paper for programs and postcards, vintage costumes, recycled products for props and LED lights. Ahimsa will be showcasing original modern dance pieces choreographed by company artistic director, Rayna Stohl as well as guest choreographer and company executive director, Molly Terbovich. ECO-Fair: There will also be an Eco-Fair in the lobby each night. The Eco-Fair will include displays and information available from local green businesses to help educate our audience on ways they can help contribute to saving our planet. Stella Nova dancers are also contributing by researching issues close to their heart and displaying this information for all to learn from.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the productions/performances presented organization.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The dedication the company, staff and board have.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Committed to the organization they served.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Take this company to the highest level of production, full time staff, and permanent location with education facilities.
Ways to make it better...
there were MORE opportunities to see them perform in more locations throughout California.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the lack of funding.
One thing I'd also say is that...
this organization is a shining star and deserves to be recognized for who they are and what they do. Stella Nova has gone GREEN, the first dance company known to take on this challenge.
