Gardners House serves at the heart of the community. It is a small nonprofit with a committed, dedicated and self less leader who strives to assist all of those affected by cancer. She herself is a two-time survivor and so understands the Often unspoken and unrecognized challenges to secure basic needs for those affected by this dreaded disease.

Gardner’s House, Inc. is a cancer respite facility in the city of Hartford. This organization does outstanding work assisting all those affected by cancer with information, basic needs – including housing, rental assistance, heating, meals- and information on getting medical assistance. This organization does extraordinary work with minimal resources from generous supporters and a major charity event, the annual Pretty in Pink Ball. The director, Ms. Maggie Gardner, a two-time cancer survivor, goes over and above to assist others. She is the personification of “the energizer bunny”.
