My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Hope For Paws, Los Angeles, CA, USA
Just no. I donated for a couple of years, and never received a receipt or acknowledgement which raised my suspicions. And for those who say 'they don't have the time' that is incredibly naive. Simple admin tasks like this are all automated easily and cheaply. Anyhow, this organization, according to their tax returns, rakes in millions and millions of dollars each year (https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/262869386) yet run no dedicated facility and have no major overheads. Apparently only a couple of hundred thousand dollars go on salaries - the rest is 'expenses.'Those expenses apparently cover saving hundreds of dogs across the USA - according to their tax return statments- collaborations with many other shelters and a recent spay and neuter program in S. LA. It's all very general with few specifics. Strange then that there are so few actual stories documented and so little data available. $3-4 million dollars is a massive amount of revenue. Just imagine what other rescues could achieve with that kind of donor base. We should all expect much more from a non-profit such as this.
