Review for Lifewater International, San Luis Obispo, CA, USA
i was one of 21 climbers that raised money to bring clean drinking water to impoverished communities by building wells through Lifewater and climbing Kilimanjaro . As i was taking off from Kilimanjaro airport you could see Uhuru peak. It made me happy! Happy to know we were up there and happy to know part of Steve will always be there. I lost my husband to a heart attack and we had planned to climb Kilimanjaro together. I spent an entire year preparing to reach this goal and summit. What I didn’t prepare for was all the amazing people I would meet along the way. The porters who tirelessly carried our gear, the guides who cheered us on, made sure they did everything possible so that everyone in our group could summit and most of all the 19 other people in our group who each had their own reasons for tackling Kilimanjaro. It’s been an amazing journey and one I come away from a stronger, more humble person. The destination and the summit were a goal that was accomplished, but it was the journey , and who we shared it with that will stay with me forever!!! To the 20 climbers in my group, thank you for your gift of friendship, encouragement and love!!!
