Review for Red Creek Wildlife Center Inc, Schuykl Havn, PA, USA
Today I was driving home from the store and I drove by this bird that didn’t move on the edge of the road. I went and turned around and got out and it tried to fly away. I picked it up and noticed both wings were fine and looked at the legs and only one of it’s legs had strength or mobility. I slowly tried to move the leg and it just dangled. I didn't notice a break at all.. I reached out to my friends on FB and asked for help or suggestions on what I should do. A dear friend who also saved a wild raccoon on this post, Heather Detweiler Shirk informed me of this place called, Red Creek Wildlife Center. I called and received some good information and drove to the facility about a hour away. I was amazed and so thrilled to find out that this baby European scarling bird must have fell out of it’s nest or had been learning to fly in the process of dislocating it’s leg. They informed me that with some pain medicine/anti inflammatory medication that in a day or so they could put it’s leg back into the socket and this baby bird I named Magnolia will then be with like birds and learn how to fly and be back to normal, hopefully 100%. I know it’s just a bird but, I love all gods creatures and I’m so grateful for this facility and the amazing work they do to help our wildlife. Fly high Magnolia and thank you Red Creek Wildlife for making it possible!!!
