My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for WINGS Guatemala, Pueblo, CO, USA
I first came across this nonprofit when visiting Antigua, Guatemala in 2017, when hearing their founder Sue Patterson speak at a local restaurant. I knew immediately that this was an organization I wanted to support, as their mission of reproductive rights is such a crucial aspect for women, allowing them to experience choice and agency in their lives. The next day during WINGS' open house, I spoke at length with Kirsten Taylor, their wonderful development director. I was so impressed with their model, and the impact they are having in many diverse and hard-to-reach areas of rural Guatemala, where many women have previously had no exposure to the options available to choose the size of their families and the spacing of their children.
In my business, I create trips that bring groups of women to experience the developing world, see the beauty of these countries, and learn about the lives of the women who live there. This involves in-country visits and collaborations with nonprofits who help women and girls create better lives for themselves in various ways. I immediately felt that WINGS would be a perfect nonprofit to introduce to my travelers, and have since brought two groups of American women to Guatemala to meet WINGS and learn about their programs. We have all been uplifted, encouraged, and impressed with this professionally-run, impactful program. I highly recommend supporting them!
LOVE LOVE LOVE all the support you have given us over the years!!
