I have some personal stake in the game..... My son came out at the age of 19. Up until that moment because he was a white privileged male, discrimination or inequality was not something I had ever had to consider in his world. Needless to say my eyes were opened wide... I am at times disappointed in our community that we even need an organization to fight for the simple right of equal treatment and at the same time often wonder where our world as it is today would be without it. Equality Florida is essential, important, and making REAL CHANGE. As a parent ally of the LGBTQ community, I am so appreciative that Equality Florida has my son's back..
