My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Military Heritage Foundation dba Army Heritage Foundation, Carlisle, PA, USA
I have worked with remedial, learning disabled "average", and gifted students who have been inspired through NHD. They have learned to research, outline, see both sides of an issue, work cooperatively with fellow students, and to present themselves with confidence while answering questions and discussing their given topics. NHD has afforded my remedial students the opportunity to feel "smart," and learn more than they felt was possible. Regardless of how far their efforts had taken them in this yearly learning competition, NHD had given them pride in their academic accomplishments. Children are our future, and children who can think, research, express themselves, and see all sides of an issue will be the best leaders our country could have. Thank you National History Day!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the pride my students take in researching, learning, and their ability to express themselves in front of their peers as well as in front of adults in authority. National History Day has afforded my students an avenue to want to learn and compete.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the students zest for learning through NHD It is an extremely well run organization, whose main goal is affording our students the opportunity to learn through research.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
not charge fees to state and national entries (some students can't afford the trip or room- some schools won't pay room and transportation for moderators). Offer workshops through local LIUs, and give ACT 48 hours. Work with learning disabled students.
