My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower International (known as Kidpower), Santa Cruz, CA, USA
I took my two kids to a kidpower class so they could learn how to stay safe, both physically and emotionally. I love how they have people practice acting out scenarios (and they keep things upbeat, not scary), so that the kids can remember what to do. Now my kids know to always check first with an adult, and they are empowered to know how to handle things when confronted with a bully or someone trying to put them down. I wish I had had such training when I was a kid. They also have very insightful articles on their website which I use to refresh my and my children's memory about what tools we can use in different situations.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the way my child knows how to brush off a mean comment by "throwing it in the imaginary trash can" and reaffirming her self worth.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The fact that it applies to adults as well as kids. We all need to know how to protect our physical and emotional boundaries.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
bring these wonderful ideas to every child and every adult in the US.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
