My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Maternity Care Coalition, Philadelphia, PA, USA
As an new intern, C4K welcomed me into their family with big open arms. The advocates and other interns were very helpful and supportive in explaining how the organization ran and what the procedure was. This internship also gave me the opportunity to see different parts of Philadelphia as well as meet individuals from very diverse backgrounds. It also made me realize what issues harbor within the city such as unemployment, a healthy eating diet, a safe place to sleep and live. All in all it was a very well-rounded experience for me. I would definitely recommend anyone to volunteer there or do their internship there...very worthwhile experience.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
a positive and eye opening manner. Through the knowledge and skills I was taught I expanded my understanding on how these moms-to-be took care of their newborns and what struggles they are facing in order to survive.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the thorough training that was provided and the fact that the organization is a big supporter of higher education and moving up on the ladder.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
funny, supportive and very helpful. They made us part of the family.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
reach a lot of clients who are in need of a crib and the organization could possibly relocate to a bigger office with faster computers and professional head-sets and more phone lines.
