Review for Faith Aloud, St. Louis, MO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This organization has displayed great courage and creative strategies in responding to the needs of women seeking good information about their reproductive choices, as well as offering those women shelter, compassion, and protection in a climate where making certain choices can stigmatize them. They are a group of very committed religious leaders whose theological posistions are consistent with longstanding traditions, and who are able to offer new words to counter the more intolerant voices within their faith traditions.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

many ways. Their Executive Director is one of the most competent organizers I have ever met.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

seek funds to increase their ability to use developing technologies to saturate the marketplace of ideas with their message.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the difference we make in the political, religious, and personal arenas.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Rebecca Turner, Cindy Bumb, Rabbi Susan Talve, Rabbi Dan Plotkin

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

effect long lasting political change and bring compassion to many women.

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to give to them.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

fundamentalism and intolerance.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The people with whom I serve in this organization are among the most passionate, courageous, and committed anywhere.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  Board Member & I have served on the Board of Directors, spoken at meetings, stood as a peaceful presence at clinics to protect women coming for abortions, taken and taught classes to prepare clergy for All Options Counseling.
