My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Camp Sunshine at Sebago Lake Inc, Casco, ME, USA
My 1st trip to Camp Sunshine was Lupus week 2016. My daughter was diagnosed with Lupus SLE October 2014. We heard about Camp Sunshine through her Lupus group. We had a great time. It was relaxing, peaceful, helpful, great activities, great people, and Cianna had a blast.
Unfortunately my Cianna passed away 12/12/17 from complications with her Lupus. I saw Camp Sunshine also had a bereavement session so I went May 2018. The volunteers are so compassionate, the entire staff is warm and welcoming. It felt like visiting family. There were activities, massages, people to talk to if you needed to talk and just the unity of other parents going through the same thing which is loss of a child.
I will be returning to bereavement week again and I go for me and my Cianna. Had she lived she actually wanted to volunteer in the future. She would be happy that I still want to go to Camp Sunshine. This truly is one of the best, if not the best Nonprofit Orginazations out there. I will always be appreciative of the happiness my daughter got out of this beautiful magical place.
