Review for Access Partnership, Virginia Beach, VA, USA
Norman C. Powers, Jr. known to his family as “Babe” served in the United States Army. He was held as a Prisoner of War after he was captured during the Korean War on 18 May 1951 and was held until his release on 21 August 1953 after the signing of the Armistice and was awarded the Prisoner of War Medal. Family contacted Access Partnership inquiring about a donated hospital bed. They explained that the bed he was provided by the V.A. was older and uncomfortable and they were advised he was not eligible for a new bed. Access Partnership was able to supply “Babe” with a donated hospital bed and patient lift making him more comfortable and easier to care for. He and his family were grateful that this program was available and they were able to receive the equipment free of charge!
