Starfish Foundation, Inc. absolutely qualifies as great: an incredible resource for anyone who is suffering. I have such appreciation for Patricia Clason and the many volunteers at Starfish Foundation and the Center for Creative Learning. Patricia has devoted her life to understanding, modeling, and teaching emotional intelligence, particularly helping veterans and others heal from trauma. She also has helped to grow servant leaders who help others. I was blessed years ago to experience and then staff the Taking It Lightly course. A self-help junkie having survived a period of severe depression in my late teens and early 20s, I was in my 30s, seeking continual improvement and growth, rising up one step at a time. The Taking It Lightly weekend was like an express elevator shooting 20 flights up in personal growth. Particularly for veterans who are struggling, the nonprofit Starfish Foundation Inc. provides full scholarships to the Healing Warrior Hearts weekend retreat.
