Review for Nature's Educators, Sedalia, CO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

As a young child I fell in love with raptors. I wasn’t more than 8 or 9 years old when I began to notice these creatures in the wild. So graceful, so perfect, so beautiful. I wanted one for my own.

After sharing my desire with a teacher, she showed me a book called “My Side of the Mountain”, by Jean Craighead George. In this book the main character escapes a horrible home life to live in nature. There he befriends a peregrine falcon that helps him survive. This book was the trigger that introduced me to nature and made me think about what nature truly is and what my relationship could and should be with it.

The programs provided by Nature’s Educators are often a young child’s first introduction to the natural world. As a volunteer there I see it their faces time and again. We want people of all ages to understand the importance of respecting and protecting wild animals and wild places everywhere. If we educate the public by bringing wild animals to them, we can help them understand and foster compassion for the wildlife they encounter.

Nature’s Educators helps me to share the insight and the love of our natural world that I received many, many years ago.
