Review for The Humane Society of McCormick County, McCormick, SC, USA
We adopted our dog Bruiser in November of 2017. He was at the Humane Society of McCormick County for 2 years. The wonderful volunteers did their best to help Bruiser find his forever home but he was so shy and scared that he was overlooked. My stepmother Kathy is a volunteer and knew Bruiser well. She talked to everyone she could about Bruiser trying to find him a good home. We eventually met Bruiser and requested to foster him to make sure he would be happy with us. We knew after the first night he had found his forever home in our home. Kathy is just one of many that dedicate their time to helping these animals find loving homes.
The entire operation of this shelter is run by volunteers and funded by donations. The dogs and cats at the Humane Society of McCormick County are very well taken care of by volunteers. They walk each dog multiple times per day, each animal has a safe & comfortable shelter, toys, vet care, grooming and training as needed. When Bruiser was brought to the shelter he had heart worms. The volunteers raised money for the necessary treatments to save his life and nursed him back to perfect health.
What the generous people do at this shelter is truly amazing and inspirational. If you are looking for a dog or cat to add to your family the volunteers at the shelter will help you find your perfect match. Donations - supplies or monetary are well utilized so you can feel good about contributing and know that you are making a difference in the lives of the animals.
