My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Voices for Biodiversity, El Prado, NM, USA
I have been a volunteer for Voices for Biodiversity since 2009. The organization is amazing. It operates almost entirely with a volunteer staff that occasionally receives a stipend if there is money. Despite these financial hardships, the online magazine is not only winning awards, it is changing the lives of people around the globe every day. The e-zine publishes the stories of people who otherwise would not be heard. Their stories are mostly about their experiences with nature and other species. And once these writers, photographers and videographers, who live from Manhattan to Maasai Mara, are heard, they move their storytelling into action. This simple process of giving people a place to connect and be heard is bringing more women, people of color, and indigenous people into the conservation movement, particularly community conservation efforts to protect biodiversity and stop the sixth extinction of species. Thank you, Voices for Biodiversity, for the work your doing.
