I volunteered every year for a week in Hospital Bernard Mevs with Project Medishare from 2011-2015. Every year there was such incredible improvement in infrastructure as well as the knowledge level of the staff. It was still a challenging place to work due to the lack of overall communications ability between hospitals and of course the lack of certain medications, lab tests, and equipment. I know it has continued to improve in subsequent years and I am anxious to return. The Haitian staff and parents (I'm a pediatrician) are wonderful. I donate every year because they do such good work.
