My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Breast Cancer Options Inc, Kingston, NY, USA
In Aug. 2004, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my left breast. I was shocked and like most women in my position I was scared. I have a great nurse practitioner who I use as my regular health provider--she recommended Dr. Sheldon Feldman to be my surgeon which was wonderful advice. I still had so many questions. Someone suggested BCO and I made my first contact--a call on a Sat. morning. Within minutes, Hope Nemeroff called me back. She shared her story, gave me great advice and put me on the track for dealing with decisions for my treatment and recovery. At one point in my treatment, she accompanied me to an appointment as my advocate and to help me in my decision to have radiation. I cannot say enough positive things about this supportive organization. The annual conferences, frequent panels and workshops, and all of the information that comes in many forms--like the regular emails and contacts from others in our situation have helped me through the years. I feel that anytime I would have an issue, I definitely have a place to turn for information and guidance. I am so thankful for Breast Cancer Options and all that Hope and the rest of the organization has done for me.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
my life as a breast cancer survivor. Especially after the initial diagnosis I received in 2004.
