Review for Labrador Rescuers, San Diego, CA, USA
We recently adopted our dog, Hobbes (first known as Mocha) through Labrador Rescuers. It was a positive experience from start to finish. After submitting our application, we received a prompt response to set up a visitation with one of their friendly, dedicated volunteers and founders, Maria. When we were approved, I told her of our interest in a particular dog. Maria arranged for a meet and greet within a couple days, and we had our dog in less than a week! The foster mom was awesome. She gave us an honest assessment of the dog and was so helpful in the transition to our home. My only semi-negative comment about the process is that the website listed the dog as a purebred Labrador retriever. My husband was quite set on wanting a purebred. Upon meeting Hobbes, it was pretty evident that he had some other breed mixed in with his "labness." We fell in love with him anyway and focused more on his temperament than breed characteristics. All in all we were very impressed with the responsiveness, thoroughness and professionalism of Labrador Rescuers. They even went above and beyond in their rescue efforts to bring Hobbes and six other dogs here from Hurricane Harvey. They are very conscientious in making sure each dog goes to a good forever home. The dogs are completely ready with up to date shots, microchips, neutering/spaying and any necessary medication and follow-up information. We are grateful for Labrador Rescuers and its many dedicated volunteers, as I'm sure thousands of other dogs and their owners are too!
