Review for 4 Paws 1 Heart, Saint Clair Shores, MI, USA
Late November of 2016 I encountered the strongest case of divine intervention I’ve ever experienced. My sister called me and told me that she is possibly going to adopt a third puppy (having already two 9month old Labs) Honestly I thought she was crazy, it wasn’t until hearing the puppy’s history did I understand why. This is the story of my sweet, yet absolutely insane, boy Bentley (aka Ali)
Bentley was brought to 4 Paws 1 Heart at the age of 2 days old, yes only 48 hrs old. He had a severe injury to his leg and it was questionable wether or not the newborn could even survive. The couple told the rescue he had somehow gotten away from his mom and pups and climbed into a recliner track. It wasn’t until someone sat in the recliner and heard his cry that they knew he had wandered. They rushed him to this specific rescue and handed his care over to the organization hoping they could help
He underwent 5+ surgeries to save his leg even flatlining during one yet Gina never gave up on him. Every single day for 7months she gave him 24hr care everything from the bottle feeding, changing bandages, making sure he had a passie so he developed self sooth, taking him to UM for more surgeries on his toes knowing he was in pain by the way he was starting to walk, by the time he was old enough hired professional dog trainer for proper obedience, she took him to work with her every day and home every night. I know I’m leaving so much out but they’ve done just so much for him it would take me a solid 24hrs to list it all. Bentley (Ali to the rescue) made it to 7 months old and the decision was made he was ready for his forever home. I know it wasn’t an easy one but Gina knew it was time and she was going to be very picky as to whom he gets his furever home.
Back to my sister possibly adopting this rescue. My family and I show up at her house for a party, the second I walk in the door she spits out “go upstairs and meet your new dog, he won’t work out here but he’s perfect for you and Skyy (14 yr old weimerreiner)
I rolled my eyes but was excited to see him. The very second I walked into the room this boy knocked me down pinned me on the ground and kissed me to the point I could barely breathe. That was the moment I knew he had to be mine. SOLD!
I contacted Gina and passed her interview, come to find out the house I had just bought was a street away
from her so a bonus she could see him anytime she liked.
Bentley is now 1 and a half and is brought so much laughter and love to my life I honestly don’t know what I would do without him. Thank you again to Gina, Diane and everyone involved in keeping my little miracle boy alive. I’m so beyond thankful that not only did you
Choose me as his furever momma but he did as well
