I was first introduced to FAF some years ago when I had to have my cat Joey put down. His sister Rosie was still at home and I figured she would be lonely without her brother. I wandered into a pet store on California Street and saw all the cages set up with all the kitten in them. I totally fell in love with an 8 week old kitten named Roosevelt. I then spoke with Marianne Hudson at FAF and discussed adopting him. I came back the following day to get him and was surprised to find another couple had him in their hands but put him back in his cage saying they would have to think about it. I scooped him up and adopted him right away. However....I then saw another kitten ( Leon ) who had the same markings as Joey and decided to take them both. Marianne was very helpful. I live in a part of White Center that seems to have many strays. Marianne took the time to bring traps out to catch them and have them get shots, neuter or spay and get a clean bill of health on them before returning them to their neighborhood. To this day I feed my indoor cats and my outdoor strays named Big Boy, Smokey, Skittles, Turtle and Leo. Santa comes by in the form of Marianne and drops off a variety of dry and wet cat foods a few times per year. She even brought a cat bed for Turtle and Skittles to snuggle up in and in the cold months I place a heating pad over it and a towel over that.
