Review for My Hero Project Inc, Laguna Beach, CA, USA
I was in my second year of college at the University of California, Irvine when I applied for an internship program that would give us a one-year internship at different companies throughout Orange County. I was lucky enough to get chosen by MY HERO and when I finished that year, I was fortunate enough to stay in the organization. Until this day, I stay in touch with the people I met at MY HERO because everyone there is so positive and friendly, and always willing to put themselves before others. MY HERO is not only a great organization because of the work they do, they are comprised of amazing people that work extremely hard to shine a light on positive role models across the world. During my time at MY HERO, I was able to meet heroes from many places and be a part of so many amazing events that bring so much joy to people. I can remember how after every film festival, attendees and honored heroes walk out of the theater with huge smiles and wanting to help others. Thanks to MY HERO, I was able to be a part of iEARN Argentina in 2014 where I got to meet a lot of teachers from different places around the world and connect with them about helping students be better people. It was an amazing experience filled with countless memories that I will never forget. Nowadays, when I'm having a rough day, I go to MY HERO and read some of my favorite stories or watch some inspiring films such as Biblioburro. MY HERO is about sharing your story of people helping others. Anybody that participates in MY HERO or has been a part of MY HERO, has nothing but good things to say. I'm grateful and glad that I have been able to be a part of MY HERO for so many years and am thankful for the opportunities Jeanne Meyers and Stephanie Cole have granted me. I will always feel that I am part of MY HERO and will continue to participate whether it be by promoting their website and events, or simply visiting the site. MY HERO, and their staff, is like a second family to me and I can't wait to see what the future holds for this awesome organization.
