Impact is so aptly named, because the “impact” the coursework has goes far beyond self-defense — though that aspect is certainly invaluable. I’ve taken the women’s basic and advanced classes and from from day one of Basics, I felt a shift in the way I move in the world. I stand taller and I better recognize my own strength. I feel less afraid in my daily life (including in areas I hadn’t realized fear had festered). I greatly appreciate the focus on violence prevention and consent, and couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible staff and curriculum. EVERYONE should take an Impact class, if they have the chance. It’s a game changer.
