Review for Spirit Acres Farm Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, Montgomery, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I found Spirit Acres in 2007. When I went to visit I was so impressed with Kat, with the horses stories, with the farm itself. Kat works very hard to make sure all the "work" gets done so there is plenty of time to be hands on with the horses; washing, brushing, medicating, whatever they need. And sometimes they just need a human near. Kat has taken in many abused, homeless, and starving horses as well as rescued some from kill pens. Each horse is treated as an individual & they thrive on the love & care that Kat & the volunteers give them.
They need donations though. When you donate you can be assured it all goes to the horses needs. This is a wonderful, peaceful farm. Please help to keep it growing.

I met Kat in 2007 & have been volunteering there whenever I get the chance. Spirit Acres is a wonderful place, for the sweet horses that are rescued & rehabilitated, as well as for the people who spend time there. Recently, Spirit Acres took in 2 of my beloved horses. They had been with me for 13 years. About a year ago they both became depressed & started losing weight. I tried everything I could think of but nothing helped. Kat took them in & they are thriving! She watches the horses that come in & learns their personalities, likes & dislikes, & makes every effort to put them where they are comfortable. Every horse that is taken in has their own story & Kat knows each one. With the number of horses that are (truly) cared for & (genuinely) loved there is a huge expense. You can be assured that every penny donated goes to these horses & their needs, as they have always come first. No donation is too small. Please help Kat take care of these beautiful creatures. Better yet, go see the operation for yourself. You may not want to leave!
