Review for National School Climate Center, New York, NY, USA
The National School Climate Center has played a central national and international role in promoting positive school climate in schools across the globe. I've worked with Jonathan Cohen the director of the Center in France, California, Israel, Peru, Chile and at major conferences on bullying, social and emotional learning, and climate. The work of the center has integrated these issues into policy, new ideas for empirical studies, and linking thought leaders from disparate silo'd disciplines to work together. Now the Every Student Succeeds Act is the law of the land the NSCC work is needed more than ever. The states are struggling in defining and measuring climate and NSCC will be helpful in this process. Their work contributes to making schools more caring, supportive, with less victimization, and higher academic outcomes. I will continue working with NSCC to make sure all students have a positive supportive school climate that unleashes their optimal potential onto the world.
