Review for Kids 'n Kinship Inc, APPLE VALLEY, MN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Our family of 5 has been matched with our mentee for a little over two years, and the time we get to spend with him is invaluable. Our 11 year old mentee continues to be a role model for our 2 and 4 year old boys, and he is SO patient with our slower pace after our third son was born a few months ago. The boys greet him with big hugs each time we meet, and they share with me, "I like our mentee because he is kind and he plays with me." We enjoy doing outdoor activities together like sports, playgrounds, bike riding, picnics, hikes, and sledding. We've also had some really awesome opportunities to visit various museums and attend professional sporting events due to Kids 'n Kinship's partnership with Tickets for Kids. We are so grateful for the opportunity to build community through Kids 'n Kinship, and the time our family gets to spend with our mentee is often the highlight of our week!

Our family has been matched for a little over a year, and the experience has been transforming. Our little boys look forward to our weekly activities with our mentee, and our three year old sees our older mentee as a type of role model. My husband and I are inspired by the positive attitude he brings to every situation he encounters. As a result of our weekly meetings, our family is much more intentional about planning meaningful activities that have exposed us to more of our community. We hope that the match has been as impactful on our mentee as it has been on us. Thanks, Kids 'n Kinship!

Kids 'n Kinship has been a wonderful experience for both us as a mentor family and for our mentee. We have been able to enjoy so many things in the community together, form a connection with another person in our community, and be more intentional about the time we spend together. Kinship staff are very organized and committed to matching up mentees and mentors in matches that have a high likelihood of success. They also are great about sharing ideas for new experiences and activities to do together.
