Review for CounterPulse, San Francisco, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The CounterPULSE residency program is thorough and built with care. My residency project has been my most authentic to date and I am honored to have been chosen to participate.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

in the growth of the progrjects through their "second sundays' programs

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

i would rehire everyone who works there

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the informative and supportive landscape.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

so supportive that I felt deeply respected as an artist, which helped me to clarify my focus early on in the process.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

they could give away a lot of tickets to live theater

Ways to make it better...

there were more hours in the day.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

(is) the fact that there are limited sources of revenue for arts programs seeking to support the creation of new work.

One thing I'd also say is that...

the throw a great year-end party 'FROLIC' a real bay area treat- don't miss it!

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & participated in the residency program (AIR).

CounterPULSE is a very important and supportive place for artists. * The informative, challenging and nuturing landscape at CounterPULSE gave way to a highly experimental platform for my artwork. * I felt deeply respected as an artist and the feedback I received while at CounterPULSE was thoughtful and articulate and helped me to clarify my focus early on in the process. * This residency project has been my most authentic to date and I am honored to have been chosen to participate.

the fact there are such limited sources of income for non-profit arts organizations who wish to support the making of new work.
