My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for ConnecTeach, Irving, TX, USA
I learned of ConnecTeach from colleagues at Boston University in 2015. Some time later, I looked at the ConnecTeach web site, paying particular attention to the Mission Statement, and also the background of the founders. The proven dedication, integrity, and professionalism of this NGO impressed me enormously, and I decided to apply to volunteer.
My first assignment was to write an on-line Teacher training course to be used in India and Uganda. This task involved my collaborating with Bhavani and Amy weekly for 5 months. Our discussions involved checking progress, brainstorming ideas, and also sharing thoughts on questions of ethics, cultural appropriacy, and other pertinent issues.
Last month, I had the great pleasure of going to Dallas and meeting with Bhavani and Amy. It is inspiring to meet such wonderful people, working selflessly and passionately to bring accessible training programs and leadership skills to impoverished communities.
The authenticity, sincerity, and dedication of the staff of ConnecTeach is apparent in the wonderful work they are doing. I have had experience with various non-profits over the years, and have found ConnecTeach to be the best model.
