Review for The Foundation For Exceptional Warriors, Inc, Bixby, OK, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was introduced to the the Foundation for Exceptional Warriors (The FEW) in the Summer of 2015, by one of my brothers I served with "down range". I have attended several events with other well known "Veteran's organizations" in the past that talk a big game, but failed to deliver on providing the important cognitive connections that most Veterans are searching for post Military service.

On the trip in 2015, I discovered that the founder of the FEW and his volunteers were men of integrity and action. The FEW's mission to refresh, reconnect, and inspire our veteran community with outdoor adventures was something that was lacking with most of these other organizations. The concept of cognitive recreational therapy is impactful in a way that reinvigorates the can do Spirit that all warriors have, but may have forgotten.

Additionally, while on that trip I was asked by the founder a very honest straight forward question that caught me off guard. Ronny wanted to know what my "new mission" was. I honestly wanted to answer, but wasn't 100% sure what it was. But, I knew I had a gap in my life that needed to be filled. I wanted, I needed to be around that brotherhood that once filled my life with purpose and direction.

Fast forward to 2017, and after hosting 6 different trips, I can now answer Ronny's question. My new mission is to strengthen our veteran community by providing the challenging environment needed to facilitate personal growth. I want to stoke the Warrior spirit by challenging veterans to reach further than before. I want to surround myself with Warriors that push each other to reach the next ridge. I want to learn for others that have endured more than I could ever imagine.

The gap in my life that was missing was selfless service. I am proud to say that gap is being filled with lifelong memories and new connections in that community that has to be built.

Thank you for challenging me Ronny!
