My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Macular Degeneration Association, Sarasota, FL, USA
When my 24 year career as ophthalmologist and Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, turned to nutrition research, I eventually developed a hypothesis for the nutritional basis of macular degeneration, which is based on the fundamental nutrition principles of Weston A. Price. Many nutrition researchers consider Price to be the "Father of Ancestral Nutrition Science," and without doubt, his principles regarding the dietary basis of
"Westernized disease" applies to macular degeneration as well.
In our own research, we ran correlations between processed food consumption and AMD prevalence, in 25 nations -- and the data strongly supports the hypothesis that this disease is preventable and treatable, through ancestral dietary strategy.
After publishing my book and presenting this data at the Ancestral Health Symposium - 2016, Larry Hoffheimer, Founder and Chairman of the Macular Degeneration Association, read my book and contacted me to discuss. He asked if I would present this thesis and data at the MDA conferences -- and I've been a speaker for them since then.
This organization most certainly seeks to educate those with AMD, as well as those more likely to get it. And the organization seeks to benefit those in need, in a charitable way. I'm proud to be affiliated with them.
