Review for Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog Rescue, Sebec, ME, USA
I live in the same neighborhood as this shelter. Jenny has in her care at any given time from 80-100 dogs. Common sense would tell you one person, even one with the best of intentions which Jenny is not, could not meet the needs of that many animals. Animals of all different sizes, breeds, personalities and health conditions are kept together. The smaller dogs are often heard crying out in pain and small dogs have been observed being attacked by the larger dogs. The animals are outside around the clock in all weather conditions. When someone walks by the house the dogs throw themselves against the fence barking, snarling and lunching and the smell of dog feces at times is sickening. There are a large number of no trespassing signs posted and a do not enter sign at the end of the driveway. Again, common sense should lead you to ask what is she hiding. If anyone questions her practices, they are met with anger, hostility and aggressiveness and excused of being on a "witch hunt". This is a "puppy mill" masquerading as a rescue.
