I would NOT recommend Cape Fear Rescue League in North Carolina. I adopted "Nemo" from them. He was actually a lost dog that was being searched for by his family. This group picked him up and listed him for adoption the same day without scanning him for a microchip or attempting to find his family. Once I learned the address where he was found, I was able to immediately find his family who had posted to Facebook page Lost & Found Dogs-North Carolina. He was also listed as UTD on vaccinations and that he would be neutered. This rescue did not ask me for a fee, did not check references and Nemo was not neutered. I agreed to take care of that, hence waiving the fee. I don’t think this rescue is on the up and up, and have found other complaints about her on other social media platforms. PLEASE do not adopt from this rescue.

Thankfully I was able to return this dog to his rightful owners.
