My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Joy Junction, Albuquerque, NM, USA
Gracie & Aubrey....We moved here from KCMO and contacted the homeless shelter prior to our arrival to confirm if they would be able to accommodate my fiance and myself. We we're impressed with the online photos and the conversations we had with the staff. Unfortunately we we're greatly disappointed once we arrived, what a disaster..The food they served was outdated and once prepared it's had to determine what you are eating, mystery meal...Housing was even worse.. you're given a thin mat, no pillows, and housed like animals in a multi purpose room and even men and women are almost sleeping on top of each other because of how they staff does the sleeping arrangements. Please explain to me how a non profit organization can receive donated vehicles then turn around and sell them... The shelter received brand new vehicles never to be seen on the property we we're informed Mr Reynolds the owner sold them. Can you imagine riding in a van that had no ac and/or exhaust system needs to be repaired, solution just keep the windows open...also vehicles that have been donated to be given to residents there are sold and not given away...the list goes on and on...my fiance was shot in the face stayed in ICU 3 weeks I was shot in the back we we're told due to our ongoing medical conditions we would be placed in a room special house to continue our recovery only to be told by the director we didn't qualify for this program...what the heck...we are trying to recover and get back be on track with our health...oh the B'S doesn't stop there our personal belongings was stolen by staff confirmed by another staff ,a sercurity name Andy member...several attempts to get this issue resolved didn't happen. We spoke with the director and he said there was nothing he could do..now I understand why people would rather sleep in the streets and not go to this shelter..
